Domain transfer
The different steps in the transfer of a domain
Before starting the transfer , make sure your domain is not in the process of redemption or deletion. The domain must be active and there must be more than 60 days before its expiration date; also, it must have been more than 60 days old. Also check the administrator and technical contacts in the Whois, because it is to these email addresses that the confirmation request will be sent.
Here are the different steps required to request a domain transfer:
- Unlock the domain and retrieve the transfer code
- Request transfer
- Reply to confirmation emails
- Within five days, the old Registrar receives the transfer request and accepts it;
- Within five days, the transfer becomes effective.
